The license for Kluson Tuners is split between two companies, Goldo in Europe and WD Music in the USA. When WD Music had a business in the UK they sold Kluson Tuners from their USA parent company in breach of the license agreement and lead to many exchanges of letters between the two companies and this is why WD Music USA state in their listings for Kluson Tuners that they are not for export to Europe.
Are made by Gotoh in Japan under license and so are very good quality tuners the single line having all brass gears and string shaft as was done back in the day. These are superior technically to WD Klusons.
The official issues are made in Korea and is owned and distributed by WD Music. They are packed in cool retro vintage looking boxes but quality wise they can be a hit or miss with wobbly tuner pegs and variable plating
